Music is an ever-evolving art form and I believe that music instruction should evolve with it. I use the most current and effective methods to teach classical, pop, gospel, jazz, musical theatre, country, soul, and r&b styles of singing.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, lessons have moved to zoom. Virtual lessons have proven to be an effective and efficient way for students to continue progressing and reaching their goals during this difficult time.
I believe music is a performance art, so I encourage my students to perform regularly and often. I host a virtual open mic night for my students where they get the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. As a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), I also enter my students in vocal competitions twice a year, where we usually have winners in multiple categories.
Every other month Cody Gouge Music Studio hosts a virtual open mic night at 6pm PST. Our next open mic night is October 14th, come watch our students perform on zoom here.
